Now in its 10th year of service, Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment continues to provide outdoor movie screen rentals across the US. What started as a small business operating out of a garage in Pflugerville, Texas turned into a thriving business servicing customers in more than 20 major cities and 12 states around the country.

Even with all that growth and expansion, we pride ourselves on offering a touch of local service with local equipment and local technicians in all locations. In fact, we hire more people each season to deliver and setup our movie events just for for you, creating local jobs nationwide.

Meet UOE Leadership

Darrell

Darrell founded the company in 2008 and was originally focused on outdoor movies exclusively for the first few years until adding photo booths, unique inflatables and other digital entertainment services in recent years. The company grew from a small startup in Austin to now servicing more than 25 major cities across 11 states all over the U.S. thanks to the hard work of the entire UOE team.

Darrell has worked in technology his entire career and has worked for American Airlines, Dell Technologies, Verizon and Cisco, working his way up from tech support to network engineering to project management, data center management and served as IT Director for several technology companies. He describes himself as a serial entrepreneur having started several companies including a paintball company in the early 90’s, a wireless technology company in the early 2000’s and an entertainment company currently. He has a passion for customer service and works with the team daily to ensure we are delivering the highest level of service possible to our customers.

Darrell married his best friend Laura in 2017 and they live together with their three dogs Piper, Presley and Paxton along with their two cats Shadow and Lily. He also enjoys playing pool competitively along with bowling and a few rounds of golf each year.

Laura

Laura Landers currently serves as CFO and Vice President but likes to call herself the “Vice President of FUN”. Trained as an accountant, she has a unique 25 year background in event planning, communications, marketing, elegant leadership, project management, growth analysis, strategic planning and business development. She began working with the team in early 2011 and has been instrumental in growing the business into the entertainment company that it is today. Her attention to details and event planning provides customers with unique event experiences.
After growing up in San Antonio, TX she graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Accounting.

She has spent the last 25 years as an avid volunteer for virtually every major non-profit group in Central Texas including serving as Chairman of A Christmas Affair, The Junior League of Austin’s largest annual fundraising holiday market, raising more than $1,000,000. Laura served as National President for her sorority and has been a role model for collegiate women around the country while serving on Zeta Tau Alpha’s National Council.

Laura helped build a startup freight forwarding company in Austin, Los Angeles, San Antonio and San Francisco, was an elected city council member before joining our team in 2011.

Laura loves to fish, travel, volunteer, spend time with her husband Darrell and play with their three dogs Presley, Piper & Paxton and two cats, Lily and Shadow.

Kenneth

Kenneth is life-long resident of a small Central Texas town just outside of Austin. As the youngest of three children, he attended local schools and graduated high school in 1995 in the top 25% of his class, while also working on the family farm, playing football and basketball, and serving in his church youth group as League President. After high school, he began working in retail store fronts, sales, automotive, and service fields. In March of 2010, Kenneth brought his passion for customer service and 15 years of knowledge & experience, and came to work at Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment as a part-time event tech.

Over the next 8 years, he worked his way up into the office taking inbound customer calls, managing equipment quality, research & development of new technologies, tech scheduling, event logistics, and now as our Operations Manager. Kenneth has personally hosted more than 700 outdoor movie events and has managed logistics for over 10,000 events during this time.

Needless to say, he does stay pretty busy, not to mention being newly married in 2017 to his wife.

Chandra

Chandra has lived in the same area since the age of four. She graduated Valedictorian of her High School class in Georgetown, Texas. She studied Microbiology and Plant Pathology at Texas A&M University. She is passionate about children and in her spare time volunteers with the local high school to mentor and spends time with children of all ages but is drawn to troubled teens. She has worked in a varied and multitude of areas including owning her own business.

She started with Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment in February of 2017 as an Events Coordinator and has worked her way up to Office Manager and Processing Manager. Chandra also now manages the photo booth make-ready for events, including graphic design and equipment maintenance.

In her free time she spends time with her husband Kenneth, four children; Ian, Avery, Beau, and Christian, and her Great Dane, Belle.

Michael

Michael is a life-long resident of Austin Texas. He grew up playing little league baseball and he still has a great love of all sports today. Michael enjoys spending time with his family and can be found almost any weekend with one of his various family members shooting pool or playing some sport.

He began working for Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment in February 2016 as an Event Coordinator and as an Event Tech. He enjoys being a part of an awesome team that puts together amazing events for all of our great customers.
